What you’ll do at Ather:
Work closely with manufacturing and Plastic molding/ Plastic tool room supplier and assess the DFM with respect to Core and Cavity
Create Tooling technical document which includes all relevant information associated with tooling needs for floating RFQ to Plastic tooling suppliers.
Create technical document for Plastic mold for Plastic tool room based on which sourcing strategies can be fixed
Indicate methods using Plastic tooling strategies, details of tool construction (Core, Cavity construction, parting line, slider, lifters, inserts etc.) to make developmental times short
Drive Tool design or Tool design inputs on draft angles, allowances for graining, Aesthetic requirements,
Matching or identifying the right tool rooms depending on the complexity of the part/tool.
Anticipate the challenges that come in development and keep the required derisking actions.
Feed the Plastic manufacturing, Plastic tool room related DFM to respective designer during Proof of concept stage to make developments easier
Publish the detailed potential supplier visit report to the relevant stakeholders and participate in discussions for finalization of the production and tooling supplier.
Prepare initial PFD, PFMEA & Control plan w.r.t process and tool designs. Support supplier for creation of robust local working procedures and work instructions.
Here’s what we are looking for:
Knowledge on tooling materials and coatings for easier molding of Plastic parts
Knowledge of tool design of Plastic mold and tooling is a must
Assess the right proto manufacturing process which is close to the final manufacturing process
Mold flow software knowledge will be an added plus
You bring to Ather
PG diploma in Tool design, along with BTech or Diploma preferably from GTTC, Indo German tool room, CIPET, NTTF, BE Mechanical/Diploma and PG Diploma in Tool design
15+ years of relevant experience in Plastic tooling, Plastic tooling strategy and Plastic tool design development.
