YOU’LL BE BASED AT: IBC Knowledge Park, Bengaluru

YOU’LL BE A MEMBER OF: Manufacturing Engineering 


WHAT YOU’LL DO AT ATHER: 

● Be the resident expert in all process and design matters related to castings, forging, sheet metal 

● Understand supplier manufacturing capabilities and feed the inputs back in design 

● Participate in supplier qualification in terms of manufacturing process capabilities 

● Evaluate design for manufacturability, for HPDC, LPDC, GDC, casting processes along with sheet metal and forging components for ease of cast ability. 

● Assist design engineers in designing the product for post-casting operations such as machining and assembly 

● Provide inputs to designers as per functional requirements such as strength, pressure tightness (stiffness), etc. 

● Take care of all casting related aspects in this - from the DFM to tooling and component development 

● Support the design team in selecting aluminum alloy/steel material as per part functionality and availability in the market 

● Participate in the tool and process design approval process - review, improve and approve before setting up tool manufacturing and line set up 

● Create process map and PFMEA 

● Validate casting components and standardize process parameters 

● Conduct PPAP and develop a plan for all open issues before hand-over to Quality 

● Coordinate development operations including planning, execution, and finalization of specifications 


HERE’S WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

● Experience in machine tonnage selection, process selection w.r.t drawing requirement, calculation of cycle time 

● Experience in post processing of casting like vibro finishing, shot blasting, buffing etc. 

● Experience in APQP approach to product development 

● Experience designing for manufacturability, aluminum die casting products, forging, and sheet metal 

● Effective communication, coordination, problem-solving, planning, and analytical skills ● In-depth process knowledge
